I Am Ready to Represent District 1
While my roots didn't originate amidst the rich history and warm hospitality of LaGrange, over the past decade, I've come to deeply cherish "America's Greatest Little City" as my chosen home. It's within this community that my wife and I have proudly raised our two children, where I've had the honor of guiding eager minds as a professor at LaGrange College, and where my dreams of entrepreneurship came to fruition when I located American Business Development Partners right off the Square in Downtown.
In these ten years, I've been fortunate to dive deeply into the heart of our community. Serving on numerous community and regional boards has given me an intimate understanding of our city's strengths, dreams, and challenges. I co-chaired the SPLOST V campaign which has brought several million dollars of capital investment to the community for infrastructure, public safety, recreation and public amenities like The Thread. In 2020, I was deeply honored to receive the Jane Fryer Award from the LaGrange-Troup County Chamber of Commerce for outstanding service to our community. My wife and I are also proud to have been selected to represent Troup County as members of the Leadership Georgia class of 2019. These experiences have allowed me insight into our issues and to build relationships with the leaders who can help provide solutions.
Four years ago, I ran for the District 1 City Council Seat. While I didn't get the result I wanted, running for office gave me a deeper appreciation for our city's legacy and the awesome potential for our future. Meeting the people who make up our dynamic community has let me know that we have more in common than we don't - now, more than ever, the slogan from my last campaign "We're In This Together" is something that we all need to rally behind.
Now, I'm stepping forward again to run for City Council. Since the last campaign, I have been more active and involved in helping to move LaGrange forward. As a Professor, I am privileged to shape the minds of our future leaders. In my role as a business owner, I've added to the economic vitality of our city. Most importantly, as a parent, I'm deeply invested in ensuring LaGrange remains a nurturing environment for all families. Our city deserves representation that understands its unique blend of history, culture, and potential. Together, we can address the challenges, celebrate our achievements, and pave the way for a future for us all.
